Subject:        Development of our Ward No. 17 in Sector 21, Chandigarh under the
Dynamic Stewardship of Sh Mukesh Bassi, worthy Councilor – A few suggestions to provide necessary amenities in the Ward for the welfare of its residents.

Respected Sir,
                  
                    As the outset, kindly accept our  heartiest congratulation for your taking over as the worthy Councilor of the prestigious Sector 21, Chandigarh. We all earnestly hope and look forward that under your sagacious and dynamic guidance and leadership, this ward will not only achieve its due strides of progress, many pending development works will see the sun shine.
                   I take this opportunity to bring to your perceptive notice that I am in the field of Social Work for the last more than one decade and have been  the Ward Committee Member of Ward No. 17. I wish from the core of heart that our ward should progress its residents may have all the basic amenities and facilities under your able guidance and leadership. For this cause I, in close consultation of other prominent residents of Sector 21 submit below a few suggestions for your consideration and execution:-

1.                  Providing of a Gate in Back lane of Govt School H.No. 50 to 60 to prevent anti social elements/ thefts / antisocial/vulgar activities in this area.
2.                  Repair of roads patches in front of houses who are at present giving a shabby look.
3.                  Providing of New Road Gullies & Manhole covers where required, for which a joint survey may be undertaken under your headship.  
4.                  Cleanliness and repair of Old Road gullies.
5.                  Widening of roads by removing of Angels / grills /Hedges and pavers blocks so that more parking space for vehicles to residents of sectors to be provided which is long outstanding demand of residents of Sector 21.
6.                  Back lanes / Service lanes to be cleaned and broken gates repaired to stop the thefts to make the life of the residents more secure and fearless from thefts.

7.                  More plants / trees to be planted to make the environment green and healthy,  a Tree Plantation Drive is proposed which can be done in association with the Forest Department of whom I am also the Member, Partnership Initiative Programme of Chandigarh Forest Department.
8.                  Providing of Dustbins and Benches in parks are to  provided to keep the parks Garbage Free and comfortable for the residents specially the senior citizens.
9.                  Proper maintenance and upkeep  of the Play Ground in 21-A to ensure its optimum utilisation by children of the locality and around.
10.             Notice Board must be installed in parks instructing the users  to put garbage in only in dustbins to keep their own park clean and also caution them regarding the imposition of  Penalty if found defaulter.
11.             Clearing/removal of Old trees from the parks, which were destroyed during cyclone long back and  are still lying in parks which give not only a shabby look but also encroach upon the  space meant for other useful purposes.
12.             Broken grills in parks be repaired or changed.
13.             Installation of Main Security Gates (6 Nos.) alongwith CCTV cameras in sector 21-A, B, C &D. The Security Gates are sanctioned must be installed as they are already approved by department.
14.             Providing of Grills (Near House no 224 near hill) to ensure security of this sensitive area .
15.             New passage / road is required Near Manav Mangal school sector21-C which will redress the long outstanding demand of the residents in this regard.
16.             Maintenance of street Lights / Park lights is required to provide uninterrupted facilities to the residents.  
17.             The Swimming Pool in Govt. School, Sector 21 is lying out of use since a long time and being used for unsocial activates and also is a health hazard being a habitat of misquotes and pests, so needs to be dismantled and the space be used for some alternative use – may be a play ground etc. for the benefit of school children..
18.             The Safeda  Trees  alongwith  the boundary wall of the Govt. School are at present of 70 to 100 ft height are casing sun obstacles to the nearby residentional houses in the back lane and  also pose a danger to the houses  if happen to fall due to storms etc.. so, need to be  trimmed immediately.
19.             New Bus stop is required to be set up and also to take a preventive measure to stop to be used as public urinals by bad elements to make a hygienic & odor free  atmosphere.
20.             Traffic Lights in front of school are not functional so need to be rectified immediately to avoid any accident..
21.             Cleanliness out side the Govt School, Sector 21 is  required.
22.             The construction work of  Sampark Centre require to be done expeditiously.
23.             Illegal parking of busses opposite houses/Fish Market required be stopped.
24.             Public toilet in Sec 21-C is in bad condition and required repair work...
25.             Hedges in corner houses or ded ends must be removed.
26.             New Public Toilet in Parrot Garden sector 21 a for senior citizens is required to be set up.
27.             A system of introducing ‘Challans’ for spreading Garbage in and around parks / back lanes is required.
28.             Sterilization campaign of stray  dogs is required to be launched to stop further Stray Dogs Breeding to save the residents from Stray Dog Nuisance..
29.             The Elections of Community Centre of Sector 21-D is due and requited to be conducted at an early date.
30.             A resident Help line through Mobile Phone may be initiated for which my self offer my services. Earlier also my Mobile Number was given for this purpose and good number of complaints/suggestions used to be received by phone, which can be restarted if approved by you.

My self and my follow ward residents are all at your service to step forward shoulder to shoulder under your captainship to make our Sector 21 an ideal place to live and an example for others.
